COO David Rivers is responsible for business affairs and operations. He likes to build things. Good thing. ; > Prior to sugarlab, David incubated a company for Intrawest. In the covered wagon days he operated at the intersect of content and technology, working with firms such as Blue Zone, Bell Globemedia and Bell Mobility, CTV and Fox News & Sports.

Hacker, activist, social networking and open source guru Scott Nelson is our Chief Technology Officer. Previous to the 'lab, Scott was a Jedi Ninja. He still is. Scott has done stealthy ninja work with an array of corporate and non-profit organizations, including founding and a long stint with Communicopia. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Vancouver Community Net (VCN) and is an Indymedia sysadmin.

Marketing specialist Steven RodRozen brings years of promotion and marketing experience to sugarlab's secret lair. His expertise includes music, nightlife, print, fashion, health, politics and non-profit sectors.

Content Director Laura Kloppenberg cracks the editorial whip, making us give consistently good story and smart art. Prior to sugarlab, Laura managed editorial for digital mogul. Laura received an MFA in Film Theory from UC Berkeley.

Lead programmer Tim Beamish [also known as Timothy Wisdom, resident DJ on our disco platform starship] leads our development efforts. Previously he worked with Object Technology International and Nortel. He has an MSc in computer science. For his thesis he invented a device that controls the playback of digital music. Cracker!

Lead artist and animator Sho Murase is responsible for creating the graphic art in the next series. She's created projects for games and TV at studios in London, Barcelona and San Francisco; her commercial clients include Coke, Mattel and Nike. Her acclaimed graphic novels series include Nancy Drew and her own series, SEI, published by Image Comics, as well as the upcoming ME2, published by TokyoPop.

Music makers DJ Cody Lee and Elad Marish make sweet recods with us. Cody is a resident at Spundae and God’s Kitchen in Los Angeles. He spins with electronic daddies such as Paul Oakenfold, DJ Dan, Deep Dish, BT and Richard Humpty Vission. Most recently, Cody was named one of the top 100 up and coming artists of 2004 by URB Magazine. Casbah baby Elad Marish has been producing and magically mastering for the last seven years. His work spans rock, RnB, funk and experimental. He now fronts the band Siclic with venerable DJs Cody Lee and Jesse Wright. And you don’t need to be rich to be his girl.

Manager Erica Zonder, of Messina Baker, represents sugarlab interests in Hollywood. No sleepy studio wonk will ever again tell us that überbabe is Pokemon meets Barbwire. What the clean hell is that?
